White Teas are produced from carefully selected individual young and tender buds of the same bush as black and green teas - camellia sinensis The made leaf, with the best production coming from early season crop, is soft and the teas are delicate and refreshing. China is considered the home of White tea but other notable examples come from India with Darjeeling and the Nilgiri Hills producing very fine examples.
